Many of us dream of escaping to a beach with white sand, clear water, and a tropical climate. Myanmar's Ngapali Beach, which has just been named the best beach in Asia by TripAdvisor users, has all three.
The Ngapali-based beach took the top spot in TripAdvisor's 2016 Traveller's Choice Awards, which ranked the top 25 beaches in Asia based on the travel community site's user reviews.
Travellers called Ngapali Beach "a touch of paradise," rating the stretch of sand for its relaxing atmosphere, gorgeous sunsets, and local village feel.

Ngapali is pronounced "nappaly." According to Lonely Planet, it's said to have been given its name by an Italian visitor who missed Napoli.
One beachgoer on TripAdvisor raved about Ngapali's spotlessness, calling it "one of the most clean beaches that we have visited in Asia."
"Ngapali beach was the best beach relax in my life," one TripAdvisor review said.
